If your piano has not been tuned in a very long time, and is extremely out-of-tune, more extensive Pre-Tuning services may be needed.

For example:  If the piano is more than about 15% (30¢) from Concert Pitch, I will need to tighten the strings slowly and incrementally, to avoid snapping them. ​

If this is the case with your piano, a second appointment may be needed to safely complete the entire piano tuning process.  This is very rare.
